Grand Theft Auto 5 Delayed! New Release Date!

Rockstar has announced that Grand Theft Auto V will be available on PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17.
The company has revealed that while the game was originally intended for a much earlier release sometime this spring, the delay was necessary in order to polish the game up.


"It simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require."

A statement reads, "We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time. GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require.
"To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be. We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September – we thank you for your support and patience."
No reference is made to the rumoured PC and Wii U versions of the game so, if you're hoping to play the game on a platform other than PS3 or Xbox 360, it looks like you may have to keep waiting that little bit longer.
Given how Rockstar's previous big titles like Max Payne 3, Red Redemption, L.A. Noire and even Grand Theft Auto IV have all launched in spring, we reckon it's safe to say this decision definitely wasn't planned. It's a bit of a pain, but surely the delay is justified if it'll help the game live up to the massive hype surrounding it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

This is a very good thing, the longer they have the better it will be, lets hope it doesn't end up in the bin of DLC infested games though.

Yeah. They also said they "may or may not" have olans for releasing it on Xbox 720/PS4. Also believed to be the 2013 GOTY and have better sales than Black Ops 2. Speaking of call of duty... i wonder what tye next one this year will be...

I want them to make another shitty Black Ops so the series is finished, then I want Treyarch NOT Infinity Ward, to go back and make some WW1 and WW2 simulators.

Infinity Ward died anyways. Their last game was MW2. Sledgehammer and Treyarch made MW3 and literally everyone left IW to join Respawn Entertainment.

I didn't know that lol, but that's good news, IW can't run a game no where near as good as Treyarch. There have been lots more modded lobby's in MW than BO.

Because they couldnt anymore. Activision literally told them to stop worrying about the old mw2 and work on mw3. Infinity ward thought that the fans were tired of modern warfare so they wanted to stop. Then infinity ward got fired. Anyways i'd continue this but i am very tired. Its 3am and we're getting off topic. GTAV.
