Halo 4 Spartan Ops returns 1/21







343 Industries has announced that Halo 4's Spartan Ops will resume on January 21 if all goes according to plan, via a post at the Halo Waypoint blog.
The plan would see episode 6 launch on January 21, 7 on January 28, and
8 on February 4. Each episode would consist of five new missions and an
accompanying new CG cinematic, just like the prior episodes.

343 also has plans to roll out some new multiplayer playlists when
Spartan Ops resumes. The week of January 21, the planned playlist is
“Forge Test,” a rotational hopper featuring small Forge maps like Relay.
This playlist would be a test, as the name implies, with 343 asking
players to providing feedback and report bugs. 343 plans to use the data
to help get the Forge maps ready for use in Matchmaking.

The week of January 28 the planned playlist is Grifball, a rotational
hopper featuring “everybody's favorite sport.” The week of February 4
will be Team Doubles, a rotational hopper of maps focusing on 2v2
match-ups. Each week, specializations will automatically unlock for all
players, as well. January 21 is Pioneer and Pathfinder, January 28 is
Engineer and Stalker, and February 4 is Rogue and Tracker.

Regular Matchmaking updates will resume every Monday once the Infinity Challenge
ends on January 20. Potential playlists for February include FFA and a
new, improved version of Team Snipers. Late February is scheduled to
bring both a Title Update and the Majestic Map Pack to Halo 4. Further details on the late February releases will be forthcoming, and all plans are subject to change.
