The "Halo" world is wide and expansive, and so much so that 343 Industries looks like they could be cooking up an MMO for the series.

According to a report from GameSpot yesterday, various job postings have popped up at 343 Industries for software engineers with "MMO know-how to build technology services" for a new "Halo" world.

The postings were for software development engineers who will be "building the next generation of backend services to power Halo 4 and our new game saga."

If 343 Industries are indeed creating a "Halo" MMO, this will be the second time a developer has tried to do so.

The first time was involving the project that was codenamed, "Titan," and was being built by Ensemble Studios with an over $90 million budget.

This project ended up being cancelled in 2007.

However, this looks like the next-generation MMO could be well underway from 343 Industries, and perhaps this is Microsoft's first attempt at putting a PC-sized MMO on next-generation consoles.
