My first thoughts on Borderlands 2, after playing through the game, would have to be "This is definitely not a game for children, the elderly or people weak of heart!"

Borderlands 2 the sequel to "Borderlands" was developed by Gearbox Softwares and Published by 2K Games, and they did a great job of it. Borderlands 1 had a lot of success, and the sequel to it had to be everything good about the first and more... they went above and beyond my expectations and they created a truly amazing game.

Ok, in this game you will die so don't go into the game thinking you will destroy anything and everything with-out a problem.

Borderlands 2 starts like the first game, by introducing the 4 different characters and their different skills, and customize your chosen character's hair style or helmet and their clothing colour. You start the game after being train-wrecked in the Arctic of Pandora, many years after the events of the first game. The story follows your character/s who sets out to find the second Vault before the main antagonist, Handsome Jack, does.

One of the things that I found most amazing about Handsome Jack, was that at times you hate him, but at other times you can't help but laugh at his jokes and crude, sarcastic comments , through-out the game. Which also leads me to the other characters in the game, many of which are from the first game , such as Claptrap, Scooter, the "Lovely Mad Moxxi" and more. All the old Vault hunters are also in the new game, but only as NPC's and quest givers. I feel that this was a wise move bringing back the old team, because people that played through the first game, already feel connected to them.

The only problem I really had with this game was the feeling that, all the boss enemies were easy compared to normal fire fights, which kind of left me disappointed with a lot of the main parts of the game.

The humour in Borderlands and Borderlands 2 is very dark, sarcastic and totally hilarious . It is very unappropriated and unexpected by today's standards but that is one of the best parts about all it. This game will literally leave you speechless and wanting to catch every piece of dialogue.

One of the faults of the first game is that there is a clear lack of story, but in this new sequel it makes up for that, by in fact showing the a back story for the first game, that will leave your mind blown. Borderlands 2 also has a story, filled with betrayal, misery and revenge, the story twist and turns, and it even makes you re-evaluate whether you are the "good guy" or the "bad guy".

This sequel managed to keep all the factors that made the first game amazing, such as, the sheer mass of unique weapons, but Gearbox also improved this, so all the guns looked, sounded and were named differently and much more uniquely. But it didn't just improve on the old features it also added many more great new things to the game, such as, the new Badass Rank system, that allows you change your characters stats after finishing challenges, however this is completely separate from the normal levelling system, which allows much more customization of your characters.

The enemies from the first game were very well thought, but compared to the second game the first game they might as well be all the same. I say this because in the Borderlands 2 all the enemies, from Bandits to Creatures to Robots are all very different and have need different strategies for taking them down.

Borderlands 2 is a game for anyone that enjoyed the first game and also enjoys other Open-world first person games, that leave you with amazing battles of bullets and blood.

It tried not to include too many parts that were good/bad about this game, that I didn't already cover in my review of the first game. I give this game a 9.4 out of 10.
